I’m so excited to share my first Birchbox review of 2016. I discovered some really awesome products in 2015 because of my monthly delivery of delicious beauty treats so I’m really looking forward to what Birchbox will be sending me in 2016. I can honestly say we are off to a great start with my January box.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a full size liner in my box this month. I have not worn liquid liner for some time but it feels so good to come back home thanks to Eyeko. If you are looking for a liquid liner that is super black, does not budge or smear, and is easy to apply then this is a must have.
Aloe provides multiple benefits for the skin; it is anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and healing. I truly love anything with aloe because I have eczema. This blend of Aloe, Orange Peel Oil, Thyme Oil, and Bergamot gently cleanses and calms the skin. My face feels so fresh and clean when I use it. If you have have normal to dry skin, easily irritated skin, or any sensitivity I think you will love this product. They also have a pink toner that I am dying to try because it is also Aloe based, but mainly because any product that is pink is probably good for you.
This is just what I needed now that winter has hit New York City. The scent is a heavenly blend of citrus with Plumeria. It also contains three oils I love and that are highly nourishing to the skin: Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil.
This shimmery pink polish by one of my favorite brands is perfect for a very lux photo shoot coming up soon. This color, Mineral Love, also has little flecks of gold in it, and compliments any skintone. You could wear it alone, but I layer any glittery nail polish on top of a very light or nude color to increase the longevity of my polish. Life is too short not to glitter and shine as much as you can.
This intoxicating fragrance is inspired by the island of Haiti. It is actually a unisex, or “shared” fragrance. Consider it the perfect gift to yourself and to your partner. It contains notes of Haitian Vetiver (I’m obsessed with Vetiver), grapefruit, and lotus flower. The base of the fragrance has black pepper, patchouli, and cedarwood. If you like warm, spicy fragrances then you will love this one. You could wear this fragrance anytime time of the year if you like it and it works with your body chemistry, but it feels very appropriate for winter. Part of the proceeds from the sale of this fragrance will help to support sustainable Haitian agricultural projects. A beautiful fragrance that also helps supports a beautiful cause.
