Chasing Fashion: New York Fashion Week with Lily

Hello Lovelies,

The only thing that keeps me warm in the winter here in New York City is my Canada Goose coat, and New York Fashion week in February.  I had the pleasure of attending the Avolinad Couture and John Ashford  “Sepia” Fall/Winter 2016 Collection.  Natalia Danilova is the designer behind Avolinad Couture. I fell head over heels in love with Natalia’s collection; she incorporates feminine silhouettes with a modern sensibility.  The models glided down the runway wearing the bold and edgy statement shoes of John Ashford.  It was beyond wonderful to see a show that combined so many elements that I love: chiffon, neutral colors that can work with your current wardrobe but up the glam factor, and sexy shoes. Let the show begin…

This dress is exactly what I want to wear on a daily basis. I would add a leather jacket and simple gold accent jewelry.

I love when shoes tell a story or start a conversation. Most of my shoes are either classic stilettos in black and nude,  or colorful platforms.   John Ashford’s shoes are walking pieces of art, and provide an ideal juxtaposition to Natalia’s soft color palette and glamorous haute couture vibe.

This little black dress and knee-high boots with a glitter heel are my new favorite warrior-goddess-conquer-the-world  outfit.

The outfit below is a perfect for a special night out.  A great way to wear a bold colorful shoe for daytime, like the yellow and blue delights below, is to pair them with a solid shift dress in a neutral color.
