The unofficial start of summer is almost here and I have tried some amazing products this month that are must-haves as we start packing for the long holiday weekend and welcoming Summer 2016! I had a hard time deciding which products to feature this month so I picked the three that I used the most and could easily be incorporated into any beauty routine.
I discovered this delicious conditioner in my May Curlbox delivery. I remember using this brand when I was a little girl, and the brand seems to have gone through a reboot. This products lives up to its name by providing a solution to my never ending dry-tangled-curly-struggles. With the help of certified natural Coconut Oil it repairs and nourishes your hair while helping to make it softer and more manageable. It has a creamy texture but it won’t make your hair feel heavy or greasy. This conditioner is a great option for curly hair, but if you have dry hair that is wavy or you are concerned with heat damage and breakage you could still benefit from this product. And I have to say, it smells like heaven!
If you follow me on Instagram you probably know that I was counting the days until these creamy, long-wearing, super pigmented matte lips pencils were available on Sephora.com May 3. Huda Kattan is one my favorite beauty vloggers on You Tube. I love wearing her lashes and when I found out she was developing a lip product I started my online research. This is not your average lip liner. What I love most about these pencils is the fact that they are formulated to be worn without a lipstick or gloss, they can be layered, and they don’t come off. The two colors I currently wear are Trophy Wife and Vixen. Trophy wife is a soft pink that will work on most skintones, and Vixen is a deep brown. There is a technique to using this product to literally contour your lips for a fuller appearance. I start by outlining my lips with Vixen, then fill in my whole mouth with Trophy Wife. Of course you can wear the colors alone or use them with your favorite lip products. When I wear Lolita by Kat Von D I pair it with Trophy Wife and it doesn’t budge!!
Speaking of Kat Von D, she always continues to make me fall in love with her and her products every time I walk into Sephora. In order to get the most out of your eye shadow and eye liner, using a primer on your lids is mandatory. Discoloration on the eyelids is a concern I hear from clients often and something I conceal on myself as well. Discoloration can be redness or simply uneven tone on your lids.
I always use some concealer on eyelids after I apply my eyeshadow primer to create a smooth, even canvas so my colors can pop perfectly and last all day. This primer allows me to have only one step. It corrects the color of my lids and prevents my shadow and liner from fading or creasing. It comes in five shades ranging from fair to deep. I wear the darkest shade, Deep. I am hoping that Kat will add another shade slightly darker to the line in the near future. I also like to use it as a matte brow highlighter because most brow highlighters that are matte are not close enough to my skintone.
